Pevensey Bay Model Railway Club East Sussex

Our New European N gauge Layout

OHLSTADT

Our new N gauge European Layout has been called OHLSTADT.  Whist the name is from an area south of Munich in Germany the layout is fictional and intended to depict both mainline and branch line operations typical of the railways found in the German/Austrian and Swiss border areas.

Kato Unitrack track has been the track of choice which gives really smooth operation. Wiring is currently under way after checks to ensure that all track connections are good. The upper level is also progressing.

An early photocopy of the track layout is shown below and then as we build up the scenery we will be able to show you our progress.

Pevensey Beach

Pevensey Beach is an 00 gauge layout that started when the club was first formed and has been previously exhibited. It has now being extended.

Tap on Pevensey Beach heading to get photos and more info.

Murrell Park

Murrell Park is a N Gauge Digital Layout that was donated to the Club and has been developed and extended to its present form.

We are very proud to have had this layout featured in previous issues of Model Rail and in articles in Great British Model Railways magazines.

The layout started its life by a pesron who lived in the Pevensey Bay area, and on his passing, his sister asked if the club would give it a good home. It oringinly measured 6' x 3' and the club then extended it to 8' x 3'6" which has proven to be the right move for this layout.  More recently, work has been done to extend the layout, by another 4' showing a lake and with leisure activities like camping etc.

This layout which has now been extended will be at the 2024 exhibition.
